What Is Acne?
Acne is an inherited disorder of the pores. Normal pores shed about one layer of dead skin cells per day inside the pore. The acne-prone pore sheds up to five layers of dead skin cells per day and the body just can’t keep up. This forms congestion under the skin which are noninflamed acne lesions (blackheads and/or whiteheads; and if bacteria are present, you will get inflamed pimples, pustules and/or cysts.
There are many triggers or aggravating factors that can contribute to breakouts, such as lifestyle and dietary choices, cosmetics, medications and current home care.
What Is The Acne Program?
Its a series of treatments and products to help you get clear skin and maintain it!
It begins with a consultation and an in-depth skin analysis to determine your skin type, type of acne and tolerance to active products. We will also review potential aggravating factors that may contribute to your breakouts, such as lifestyle and dietary choices, cosmetics, medications and current home care.
This consultation is then followed by a skin assessment and skin sensitivity test. Based on those results, we develop a custom home care regimen customized to your skin and acne type. You will go home with all the instructions and tools you need to achieve clear skin.
Your First Acne Consultation & Treatment $100
During your first consultation and treatment appointment, we take these steps:
-Determine your skin type, acne type and skin tolerance
-Give you recommendations for the products and treatments you will need to get clear
-Go over aggravating factors that make you break out – foods, medications, cosmetics, stress, etc.
-Give you a packet of information that has everything that we tell you in the consultation
-Perform an acne treatment with extractions and LED light therapy*
-If you decide to go on our acne-clearing program, you will be instructed on how to use your products for the first two weeks of your program.
*Restrictions may apply.
NOTE: Products are not included in the cost of the treatment. Expect to pay about $150 for your first set of acne products at your first appointment.
-We do not offer this acne treatment or extractions to clients that do not use our home care products.
Acne Follow Up Treatments $75
We will want to see you every two weeks for an acne treatment.
It typically takes about six to eight services over a 3 to 4-month period of time to get you mostly to completely clear. Your Acne Specialist will:
Assess what type of treatment your skin needs when you come in. They will also assess how your home care regimen will be adjusted so that your skin does not over-adapt and stop responding.
Perform an acne treatment with extractions, LED light therapy or High Frequency
As you get clear, your treatments will become shorter – there just won’t be as many extractions to do.
After your acne is under control, you will simply need to maintain your home care products to keep clear.
